Cambodia's Ministry of Inspection Audits Nearly 3,000 Units, Resolves 188 Complaints in First Half of 2026

Minister of Inspection Sok Soken revealed that by the end of the first half of 2026, the Ministry of Inspection had conducted audits on 2,807 government and sub-national administrative units, recommending improvements in 1,216 of them. The ministry also received 435 complaints, of which 188 were resolved. This report was presented during a meeting with the National Assembly's First Commission, which handles human rights, complaints, and inspection, held on September 2, 2026. The meeting discussed the progress, challenges, and future direction of the Ministry of Inspection's work, in line with the government's 'Political Program of the 7th Mandate' and 'Pentagon Strategy Phase 1'. Minister Sok Soken expressed gratitude to Senate President and former Prime Minister Hun Sen for his leadership in successfully implementing the 'Triangle Strategy' and 'Quadrangle Strategy', which laid a strong foundation for peace, stability, and development. He also thanked National Assembly President Khuon Sodary for her attention to the work of the Ministry of Inspection. Furthermore, the Ministry of Inspection tracked the implementation of laws and recommendations from the Prime Minister in 3,853 cases. Legal awareness campaigns were conducted 600 times, with 135,611 participants. Public forums were held 40 times, attended by 30,332 people, and public opinion surveys were conducted 168 times. The Minister highlighted strategic initiatives for the future, including the prompt completion of the draft 'Law on Inspection'. The meeting involved active discussions and in-depth feedback from the National Assembly's First Commission on the ministry's overall work and enhancing cooperation between the legislative and executive branches to better serve the public interest.
