P4.5M Shabu Seized in Rizal Buy-Bust; 12 Suspects Arrested
A major anti-drug operation in Rizal, Philippines, resulted in the seizure of suspected shabu worth P4.5 million from 12 individuals. Police are now tracing the source of the illegal substances.
LUCENA CITY – The police on Wednesday night seized P4.5 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) from 12 alleged drug traffickers in a buy-bust operation in San Mateo, Rizal. The Calabarzon police office said in a spot report that the local police drug enforcement unit nabbed the suspects identified by their aliases “Madam,” “Sef,” “Noer,” “Inag,” “Raffy,” “Jerome,” “Joan,” “Eva,” “Rizal,” “CJ,” “Orlan,” and “Onyok” at 9:26 p.m. after they allegedly sold P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer inside Madam’s house in Barangay Sto. Niño. READ: 2 drug suspects busted in Rizal; P659,000 shabu seized Recovered from the suspects were seven heat-sealed plastic sachets and six knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing around 661.98 grams of suspected shabu and assorted drug-sniffing paraphernalia. Based on the standard valuation of the Dangerous Drugs Board, the confiscated drugs were estimated to be worth P4,501,464 at P6,800 per gram. Investigators are tracing the source of the illegal drugs allegedly peddled by the suspects. All arrested suspects were detained, and cases of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them./coa
