Chinese Female Doctor Murdered; Suspect Allegedly Killed Own Sister Previously

A murder case involving a Chinese female doctor has occurred in Phnom Penh's Prek Kompus commune, Dangkor district. The incident took place around 4:10 PM on July 12, 2026, at a clinic and residence located in Borey Phnom Penh Thmey Kour Srey 2, along National Road No. 2. The arrested suspect is In Khuang, a 37-year-old Cambodian male. He attempted to flee to his hometown in Kampong Trabeck district, Prey Veng province, with the help of his sister who lives near the clinic. However, police skillfully maneuvered to have his sister bring him back, leading to his arrest around 7:30 PM. The victim has been identified as Lin Zha, a 47-year-old Chinese national and the doctor at the clinic. Authorities stated that the incident appears to have escalated from an attempted sexual assault. After the crime, the suspect asked his sister for a ride home, intending to escape to his hometown. However, police contacted the sister and instructed her to bring the suspect back. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to killing the female doctor but denied the sexual assault. He claimed that he initially attempted sexual assault, but upon refusal, a struggle ensued, during which he tore her clothes and stabbed her with medical equipment. The victim died, and blood was found splattered around the scene. Furthermore, according to information from the suspect's biological sister, he has suffered from mental illness for nearly 10 years and previously confessed to killing his own younger sister in his hometown with a wooden stick. At that time, he was arrested by local police after being found sitting by the victim's body.
