Cambodia Enhances Cooperation with Korea on Drug Trafficking Fight

Cambodia continues to advance its cooperation with South Korean law enforcement agencies in combating illicit drugs. The National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD) of Cambodia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the South Korean Coast Guard regarding cooperation in drug control. The MOU was officially signed on the morning of September 7, 2026, in Phnom Penh by Lieutenant General Meas Virith, Secretary General of the NACD, and Mr. Cho Yoon Min, Director-General of the Investigation Bureau of the Korean Coast Guard. The objective of this memorandum between the NACD and the Korean Coast Guard is to strengthen and expand cooperation, as well as to enhance the effectiveness of joint operations. The NACD Secretariat considers the signing of this MOU as significant evidence of the shared will and commitment to reinforce cooperation, share information and experiences, and coordinate work more closely. This aims to move forward more robustly towards achieving common goals in combating drug trafficking, transportation, and transnational crimes.
