Vietnam Sees Flourishing Social Contribution Activities Across Regions

Various activities contributing to the safety and development of local communities are underway across Vietnam. In the northern region, the final round of the "Excellent Base Security Force" competition, organized by the Ministry of Public Security, was held in Thanh Hoa province. This competition saw the participation of 17 teams showcasing their legal knowledge, skills in mobilizing and educating the public, and their ability to handle security incidents. Participants focused on practical aspects of their work, including legal knowledge, public engagement and mobilization, coordination in resolving security issues, and the capacity to manage complex situations. The organizing committee awarded 4 "A" prizes, 6 "B" prizes, and 7 "C" prizes to outstanding teams, along with 5 special prizes for the most impressive performances by teams and individuals. Meanwhile, in Nghe An province, a "double-digit growth" emulation movement has been launched to achieve sustainable growth targets for the period 2026-2030. This initiative aims to foster solidarity, self-reliance, and determination to reach a provincial Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate of 11-12%, with aspirations for over 12% during the period. This movement is intended to strongly awaken the spirit of unity, autonomy, self-reliance, and the determination to achieve victory. Administrative agencies and local authorities are urged to accelerate administrative reforms, reduce business conditions, innovate leadership methods towards post-inspection rather than pre-inspection, maximize decentralization coupled with resource allocation, and enhance supervision. They are also expected to fulfill and exceed sector-specific objectives and assigned tasks. Furthermore, in Quang Tri province, a high school student, Le Duc Trung (11th grade), who bravely rescued people from drowning, was awarded the "Brave Youth" badge and a certificate of commendation from the Central Youth Union. This award recognizes and honors the courageous actions of young individuals who risk their lives to save others, promoting the values of compassion, responsibility, and the spirit of Vietnamese youth. Previously, on June 21, at Da Nhay beach, upon noticing two children being swept away by strong waves, Le Duc Trung dove into the sea to rescue them. With his composure and swimming skills, he reached and safely brought one child ashore, despite being nearly exhausted himself. The other child was also promptly rescued by relatives and bystanders. Additionally, in coordination with Hue City, Hue Central Hospital, and the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, a free health check-up program was organized for over 1,000 residents in Binh Dien and Khe Tre communes. This included general internal medicine, specialist consultations, chest X-rays, and necessary tests to detect non-communicable diseases, respiratory illnesses, breast cancer, and other risk factors. On this occasion, medical equipment was donated to grassroots health facilities, and essential gifts were provided to disadvantaged families and patients in the area. The "Bright Future" Cancer Patient Support Fund also presented 100 gifts to underprivileged cancer patients undergoing treatment at Hue Central Hospital and visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Tuyet in Thanh Thuy ward. Youth from central agencies are supporting bicycles for disadvantaged students. The Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund recently organized a ceremony to receive 15 bicycles donated for disadvantaged students in Anh Son commune. This program is part of a series of activities responding to the "Vietnamese Youth Accompanying Border Youth" project and the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2026 launched by the Central Youth Union. At the event, the Youth Union of the Government Office, in coordination with the Youth Unions of various agencies and units, symbolically presented 15 bicycles, with a total value of 45 million VND, through the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund to support disadvantaged students in Anh Son commune.
