NUG announces destruction of one military helicopter, capture of 9 military camps, and over 600 soldiers killed in June; Iron Butterfly Force comes under MOD command

Yangon, July 15 The National Unity Government (NUG), Ministry of Defence (MOD) announced that its forces destroyed one military junta helicopter and attacked 16 military camps in June, capturing nine of them and killing over 600 soldiers. It was reported that during the period from June 1 to June 30, one military junta helicopter was destroyed in Twinma Pyu village, Myaing Township, Magway Region, and a total of 16 operations were carried out, including 15 offensives against military junta camps, resulting in the complete capture of nine military junta camps. The NUG Ministry of Defence announced that 644 military junta soldiers were killed and 209 were injured in these attacks, and that among the dead, injured, and captured were 20 military junta officers. The Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government is organizing and establishing a single chain of command by consolidating various defence forces and resistance fighters across the country in its armed revolution. In this regard, it was learned that the Iron Butterfly Force, a regional defence force based in Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region, has joined the People's Defence Force's phased command system with confidence, aiming for the success of the people's revolution. Therefore, the Ministry of Defence General Headquarters has announced that the said force will continue to carry out revolutionary duties as a company of the People's Defence Force, Dawei District, Battalion (1). It is known that the Iron Butterfly Force is a revolutionary organization that has previously fought alongside People's Defence Force units and Pekaf in battles such as the Maung Ma Kan police station battle, the Yangon Kin bridge battle, the Nyin Ma village battle, and other military operations.
