Vehicle heading to flood-affected areas in Tanintharyi shot at, one injured

It is reported that a vehicle belonging to the Myeik District Natural Disaster Management Committee was shot at on its return journey while heading to flood-affected areas in Tanintharyi Township, Tanintharyi Region, resulting in one person being injured. The Myeik District Natural Disaster Management Committee had delivered basic foodstuffs, supplies, and relief items from Myeik City to Tanintharyi City for the flood-affected people of Tanintharyi Township and had also provided healthcare services to the public. It is reported that on the evening of September 5th, while returning from Tanintharyi City to Myeik City, the vehicle was fired upon by an armed terrorist group, and one member sustained serious injuries. The incident occurred when the Myeik District Natural Disaster Management Committee, after completing its tasks, was returning from Tanintharyi City to Myeik City by motor vehicle. Upon reaching the Kan Toe Village junction near the exit of Ran Pho Village in Tanintharyi Township, the terrorist group fired weapons from the opposite bank of the river in Kan Toe Village, causing one member of the Myeik District Natural Disaster Management Committee to sustain serious injuries. The injured individual sustained injuries including a gunshot wound to the left upper arm (penetrating/exiting) and one gunshot wound to the left side of the chest (critical). He received emergency treatment as an inpatient at the emergency ward of the No. 5/100 Military Hospital in Myeik City, and on September 6th, he was transferred and is currently receiving inpatient treatment at the emergency ward of the Myeik People's Hospital.
