
Battambang City's ADB-Funded Wastewater Treatment Plant Operational, Boosting Sanitation
On May 27th, Cambodia's Ministry of Public Works and Transport, along with the ADB, inspected an 8.9-hectare wastewater treatment plant in Thma Kol District, Battambang Province. Completed by the end of 2025, the facility treats wastewater from the west bank of the Sangkae River before discharging it into natural water sources. This development is expected to improve the city's sanitation and boost tourism.
