Co To Island Launches Free Wi-Fi to Boost Smart Tourism

Co To Island, part of the northern port city of Hai Phong, has launched its "Coto free Wi-Fi" service, aiming to enhance the digital experience for tourists and residents. The service, deployed at the square of the Ho Chi Minh President National Special Memorial Site, allows visitors to access the internet for free. This enables easy access to digitized tourism information, including digital maps, accommodation, restaurants, ferry schedules, event details, and emergency contact hotlines. The Wi-Fi network is planned to be expanded to other key tourist areas on the island, such as Co To Port, Hong Van Beach, and Van Chai Beach, which are popular gathering spots for visitors. This initiative aims to establish Co To Island as a modern, smart, and environmentally friendly destination, integrating technology with environmental protection and tourism culture. Under Vietnam's one-party system, local authorities implement specific measures to stimulate regional economies and improve public services in line with central government policies.
