The Ganesh Festival was held at Shwe Htut Tin (Hexagon Complex) in Tamwe Township of Yangon on Friday. The event was attended by Union Minister for Religious Affairs U Tin Oo Lwin, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu and the regional ministers, Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Abhay Thakur, concerned officials and invited guests. In his congratulatory remarks, Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin emphasized Myanmar–India relations, religious and cultural connections, shared borders, and economic interdependence. He noted that the Ganesh Festival symbolizes not only religious faith but also wisdom, discipline, patience, attentive listening, concentration, and self-control. He added that the festival provides Myanmar Hindu community with an opportunity to preserve its religious and cultural traditions and expressed hope that it would further strengthen friendship and mutual understanding. The festival featured Indian cultural performances and instrumental presentations.
