Leveraging the enhanced standing, capacity, and confidence gained over four decades of Doi Moi (Renewal), Vietnam's diplomatic sector has built a solid foundation. This allows it not only to maximize external resources for national development but also to make active and responsible contributions to international peace and security. Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted that local diplomacy proactively creates development space. This strategy is crucial for Vietnam to enhance its international presence and foster economic growth. Furthermore, resources from overseas Vietnamese (OV) are evolving from a pioneering diplomatic role to a driver of local development, indicating Vietnam's increasingly proactive stance in both economic development and international cooperation. Upcoming diplomatic conferences are aimed at further strengthening Vietnam’s international standing. These gatherings will serve as platforms to deepen multilateral and bilateral relations, thereby maximizing Vietnam's national interests. Within its one-party system, diplomacy plays a critically important role in expanding Vietnam's influence in the international arena while balancing economic growth and national security. Particularly, amidst its complex relationship with China, Vietnam needs to skillfully manage relations with neighboring countries and major powers while safeguarding its sovereignty and economic interests. In this context, the proactive stance of its diplomats is an indispensable element of Vietnam's long-term development strategy.
