Vietnam and France Sign Numerous Cooperation Documents
Vietnamese President To Lam and French President Emmanuel Macron witnessed the signing of cooperation documents in healthcare, security, space, economy, infrastructure, and aviation. Notably, multiple aircraft purchase agreements were concluded between Vietnamese airlines and Airbus.
On the afternoon of September 10, local time, at the Elysée Palace in Paris, General Secretary and President To Lam of Vietnam and President Emmanuel Macron of France witnessed the signing of cooperation documents. The documents signed include: A cooperation agreement in the health sector between the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and the Ministry of Health, Family, Autonomy and Disabled Persons of France. A joint statement between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of the Interior of France on cooperation and capacity building in civil security. An expression of intent between the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance, Industrial Sovereignty, Energy and Digitalization on the provision of Earth observation satellites. An expression of intent on cooperation in the field of critical minerals between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, and the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial Sovereignty, Energy and Digitalization. A loan agreement for the Integrated Water Resource Management Project for climate-resilient livelihoods and socio-economic development (Dien Bien province) between the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam and the French Development Agency (AFD). A memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a Railway Technology School (under the University of Transport and Communications). A memorandum of understanding between Vietnam Airlines and Airbus on the purchase of A350-900 aircraft. An expression of intent between Vietravel Airlines and Airbus on ordering 20 A220 aircraft and 30 A321neo aircraft. A contract on maintenance, repair, and technical support services for A320 and A330 aircraft for Vietjet Air. On the same day, in Paris, General Phan Van Giang and Minister Catherine Vautrin signed an agreement between the Ministry of National Defence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of the Army and Veterans of France on cooperation in the field of UN peacekeeping.
