P5.49-M Marijuana Plants Destroyed in Kalinga Eradication
Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) destroyed an estimated P5.49 million worth of marijuana plants, totaling around 27,000 stalks, in mountainous areas of Tinglayan, Kalinga. No cultivators were apprehended during the operation.
TUGUEGARAO CITY — Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents uprooted and burned an estimated P5.49 million worth of fully grown marijuana plants during an eradication operation in Tinglayan, Kalinga, on Thursday, the police regional office said Saturday. The composite team destroyed around 27,000 marijuana plants found in the mountainous areas of Barangays Loccong and Buscalan. Operatives from the Tinglayan and Lubuagan police stations, the 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, the Kalinga Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and PDEA conducted the operation. No marijuana cultivators were arrested during the operation, police said.
