Electrical and Computer Engineering Programs Lead at Koh Kong Polytechnic Institute

The Koh Kong Polytechnic Institute (PIKK), operating under the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, provides a wide range of technical and vocational training courses tailored for the youth. Among the various specialized programs, Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering have emerged as the most popular and highly sought-after fields by young individuals in the province. His Royal Highness Dr. Sisowath Rithy Ravyvong, the Director of the Koh Kong Polytechnic Institute (PIKK), revealed that Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering are the vocational disciplines that receive substantial support and keen interest from young people who intend to study technical fields to prepare themselves for the job market. His Royal Highness stated, "Students who have just completed Grade 12, regardless of whether they passed or failed their examinations, can pursue a specialization at PIKK's TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) institute. The education offered here provides genuine knowledge and practical skills that are in demand by the job market. In addition, the institute provides accommodation for students, modern academic buildings, as well as adequate equipment and learning materials for hands-on practice." Concurrently, PIKK has established collaborations with a number of enterprises, factories, and private sector entities through the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and Memoranda of Agreement (MoA). These partnerships are designed to create opportunities for students to participate in internships and gain tangible work experience. In addition, His Royal Highness encouraged young people not to overlook the opportunities available through TVET programs. He highlighted that these specialized fields are focused on skills that directly respond to the demands of the labor market, and that scholarships and training are offered free of charge. He emphasized that acquiring practical skills can significantly help young individuals prepare effectively for their entry into the workforce.
