Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to visit Myanmar on working trip

It is known that the President of the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Alexander Lukashenko, will visit Myanmar on a working trip in the near future, at the invitation of the Head of State, U Min Aung Hlaing. This visit to Myanmar by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will be his second. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko visited Myanmar from November 27 to 28, 2025, and at that time met with Chairman of the State Administration Council and Chairman of the National Security and Peace Council, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, and held bilateral discussions. During the visit to Myanmar, Memoranda of Understanding on cooperation in science and technology, Memoranda of Understanding on cooperation in customs matters, an export credit framework agreement, Memoranda of Understanding on cooperation in the fields of national-level standardization, conformity assessment, metrology, and accreditation, a roadmap for promoting bilateral cooperation, Memoranda of Understanding on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, and culture, a Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in criminal matters and illicit trafficking, and a Memorandum of Understanding on investment promotion were signed and exchanged. During this trip, with the aim of perpetuating the long-standing diplomatic friendship between the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Republic of Belarus, the road connecting Rajasingha Road and Jambudipa Road in the federal territory of Nay Pyi Taw was honored by naming it "Minsk Road" after the capital city of Belarus, Minsk. Similarly, the agreement on mutual visa exemption between Belarus and Myanmar was approved and signed by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on May 25, 2026. Under this agreement, Myanmar citizens and Belarusian citizens holding valid passports will be exempt from visas for entry, exit, transit, and temporary stay in each other's countries. Under the visa exemption, stays of up to 30 days from the date of entry into the country will be permitted, with a total of up to 90 days per year.
