Vietnam Strengthens International Ties on 81st National Day Anniversary

As Vietnam marks the 81st anniversary of its National Day, the nation is stepping up efforts to strengthen its international ties amidst various commemorative events. Greetings have been extended by leaders from numerous countries on the occasion of Vietnam's National Day on September 2. This signifies the international recognition of Vietnam's progress in achieving independence and development, and its growing presence on the global stage. Notably, Vietnam has expressed its readiness to serve as a bridge between ASEAN and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). In these discussions, Vietnam reaffirmed its commitment to its traditional friendship with Kyrgyzstan, considering it an important and reliable partner in Central Asia. Furthermore, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the United Kingdom is expected to translate into practical cooperation across sectors such as science and technology, agricultural trade, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development, with tangible results anticipated at COP31 and beyond. Special solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation with Cuba are also highly valued, with Vietnam expressing confidence in Cuba's future successes in national development. This highlights the historical context of cooperation between socialist nations. Vietnam's foreign policy emphasizes independence, self-reliance, and multilateralism, adhering to international law and the UN Charter while promoting dialogue and cooperation for peace, stability, and sustainable development. This underscores Vietnam's role as an active and responsible member of the international community. The congratulatory message from General Secretary and President To Lam to the King of Malaysia highlights the importance of maintaining good relations with regional powers. The August Revolution of 1945 is recognized as a glorious milestone in Vietnam's history of national construction and defense, breaking the chains of colonial rule and paving the way for national independence and socialism.
