Nearly 3,000 Youths Apply for Voluntary Military Service on First Day
On October 1, 2026, Cambodia saw nearly 3,000 young people apply for voluntary military service on the first day of the new conscription system. Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted the program as an investment in human capital, fostering disciplined and capable citizens. Applicants will receive a monthly stipend of 400,000 Riel (approx. $100 USD) and other benefits.
