QC Court Issues Arrest Warrant vs. Sara Duterte

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City Regional Trial Court has issued a warrant of arrest against Vice President Sara Duterte in relation to her grave threats case before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), her lawyer said Friday. In a statement, lawyer Paul Lawrence Lim said, “Today, the Quezon City RTC has issued a warrant of arrest against VP Sara Duterte in connection with the grave threats case filed by the NBI." Lim added that they consider the warrant "unjust" and will "file necessary pleading to question the validity of the warrant." "We are confident that justice will prevail," he said. It was not immediately known what the grave threats case was about or when the alleged offense was committed.
