Cambodian Red Cross Distributes Humanitarian Aid to 297 Impoverished Families

In Stung Hav district of Preah Sihanouk province, 297 impoverished families received humanitarian aid from the Red Cross. On August 8, Mang Sineth, President of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Red Cross Committee, distributed humanitarian aid to struggling families in the district. Each family received 25kg of rice, one box of noodles, one string of canned fish, one string of fish sauce, one string of drinking water, 1kg of dried fish, one pack of peanut cookies, one mat, a kit (including a mosquito net, blanket, krama, and sarong), and 50,000 Cambodian Riel in cash. During the occasion, Mang Sineth conveyed the regards and deep concern of Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, for the welfare of the people, especially the impoverished in Preah Sihanouk province. He emphasized that the Provincial Red Cross Committee, its branches, and volunteers consistently consider the well-being and needs of the people throughout Preah Sihanouk province. Furthermore, Mang Sineth stated that the government's implementation of the "Fairness Card" and the "B.S.S Card" for civil servants, employees, workers, and especially impoverished citizens (Grade 1 and 2) has led to improved living standards. He explained that Prime Minister Hun Manet's "Pentagonal Policy," in its first phase, aims to foster national development and bring peace to Cambodia, thereby laying the foundation for economic progress. This policy prioritizes human resources, roads, water, electricity, and technology. The government is also investing in education, establishing schools closer to communities to enhance knowledge, skills, and life competencies. Additionally, the government is building national, provincial, and local infrastructure to facilitate inter-regional communication across the country, aligning with Cambodia's vision to become a high-income nation by 2050.
