Health Minister Commends Border Troops for Patriotism and Sacrifice

Minister of Health Dr. Chheang Ra, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Health, visited and presented gifts to the officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers of the 51st Infantry Division, stationed along the border, on September 19, 2026, in Uddar Mean Chey province. During the occasion, the Minister conveyed greetings from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Bun Rany Hun Sen, as well as from Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and his wife Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, to all our heroic soldiers, especially those stationed along the border. Dr. Chheang Ra stated that on behalf of the Ministry of Health, he expressed deep admiration and gratitude for the heroism, patriotism, and unwavering spirit of sacrifice demonstrated by the commanders, officers, non-commissioned officers, and all soldiers. He acknowledged their dedication of physical strength, mental fortitude, fresh blood, and even lives in defending Cambodia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and protecting the nation and its people. "Your heroism serves as an exemplary model for the entire nation and is a source of pride for us all," he said. The Minister emphasized that this visit embodies the spirit of unity and solidarity, reflecting the principle of "the rear front supporting the front line." He added that behind the heroic soldiers, the government, civil servants, staff, and Cambodian citizens from all walks of life stand with them, concerned about their well-being and remembering the sacrifices made by the combatants in their duty to defend the nation. Furthermore, the medical teams, forming the "rear front," act as a strong shield protecting the soldiers' health, working alongside them to provide medical support, equipment, medicines, and emergency services, always caring for the soldiers' health under all circumstances. This "great solidarity" is a significant force for the nation, and a commitment was made to unite as one to ensure Cambodia's strength, peace, and a prosperous future for subsequent generations. Dr. Chheang Ra advised the soldiers to pay close attention to their health, prevent and address health issues arising from food poisoning or excessive alcohol consumption, and adhere to hygiene practices such as washing hands before eating, storing and consuming food hygienically, and using sanitary toilets. He particularly recommended a diet that is "low in salt, low in fat, and low in sugar" and advised avoiding tobacco and alcohol. In case of illness or health problems, soldiers were urged to seek immediate examination and treatment at the nearest health facility. To contribute to supporting the "front line," the Ministry of Health brought gifts including medicines, wound dressing kits, food supplies, and financial assistance to meet the soldiers' daily needs.
