Robbers Break Into Relic Stupa in Takeo, Stealing Gold and Cash

In Cambodia's southern Takeo province, a relic stupa housing human remains was reportedly broken into by a group of armed suspects, who made off with gold and cash. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, drawing strong condemnation as an act of desecration against cultural heritage. The incident occurred on July 23rd in Prohote village, Rokak Krou commune, in the city of Takeo. The targeted stupa, belonging to the family of Mr. Oun Wanna, was where human ashes were enshrined. Approximately 5 chi (about 18.75 grams) of gold and an unspecified amount of cash were allegedly stolen from within.
