LPA, Easterlies to Bring Scattered Rains Across Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) and the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, are forecast to bring gloomy skies and scattered rains over parts of the country on Wednesday, July 29, the state weather bureau said. Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said the LPA and easterlies are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over southern Luzon, the Visayas, and parts of Mindanao. Pagasa advised the public to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides. "Maaari pa rin pong magkaroon ng localized thunderstorms sa mga lugar na ito," Dominguez said.
