3 Chinese nationals and 18 Myanmar nationals arrested by Thai authorities in one day in Sangkhlaburi District, Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand

According to reports from the Thai side, three Chinese nationals and 18 Myanmar nationals were arrested by Thai authorities in Sangkhlaburi District, Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand, on June 27. Around 11 a.m. on June 27, Thai authorities inspected a three-wheeled motorcycle carrying two Chinese nationals at the Ranti Bridge checkpoint in Sangkhlaburi District. It was discovered that their visas had expired, and they were arrested and detained. Furthermore, another Chinese national traveling in a passenger vehicle at the same checkpoint was inspected and found to have an expired permit and was illegally residing in the country. He was also arrested and detained, according to Thai news reports. It is known that three Chinese nationals and one Thai three-wheeled motorcycle driver were arrested and detained at the Sangkhlaburi police station following these incidents. Similarly, around 11 p.m. on June 27, based on information that individuals had illegally entered from Myanmar into a forest path behind an orange orchard in the Nong Lu area of Sangkhlaburi District, a joint team consisting of the Nampaket checkpoint, Sangkhlaburi police station, border patrol police, and local administrative officials conducted an inspection. Eighteen Myanmar nationals without identification documents were found and were sent to the Sangkhlaburi police station for arrest and detention. Due to the daily influx of illegal migrants, including Chinese nationals, from Myanmar into Thailand through the Phra Chedi Sam Ong area on the Myanmar-Thailand border, Thai authorities have been blocking illegal entry points on the Thai side and intensifying inspections at checkpoints, according to reports from the Thai side. This action was taken on June 29. Previously, on June 14 and 15, Thai authorities had arrested 11 Chinese nationals who had illegally entered Thailand from the Phra Chedi Sam Ong area on the Myanmar side of the Thai-Myanmar border.
