PNP Intensifies Monitoring of Groups Indoctrinating Children to Violence

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has been ordered to strengthen its monitoring of supposed groups involved in the “online indoctrination” of children to violence. “We in the PNP want nothing more than to ensure the safety of our children. As threats continue to evolve, we remain committed to responding to those evolving threats to protect the safety of our citizens,” PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said. The directive aims to address the growing risk of children being exposed to extremist ideologies and violent content through the internet. The PNP plans to identify how these groups approach and influence children, and to take concrete measures to thwart their activities.
