Jokowi Praises PSI's Organizational Strength, Eyes 'Big Victory' in 2029

Indonesian President Joko Widodo, widely known as Jokowi, has lauded the progress of the Solidarity Indonesia Party (PSI) in establishing its organizational structure nationwide, expressing optimism for a "big victory" in the 2029 general election. He highlighted the party's comprehensive local-level organization as a key driver for future success. During a regional coordination meeting of PSI in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Jokowi stated, "I have just received a report on PSI's structure across Indonesia, and Alhamdulillah, by God's grace, the DPW (Regional Executive Board) is 100 percent formed." He further noted that 97 percent of the district/city level organizations and 84 percent of the sub-district level organizations are in place. Jokowi mentioned that the district/city level was initially at 100 percent but a slight delay of 3 percent occurred due to ongoing discussions involving the party chairman and his rivals. The President expressed confidence that by the end of 2026, all organizational levels, from provincial to the smallest RT/RW (neighborhood units), will be fully established. Currently, the RT/RW level stands at 28 percent completion. Jokowi believes that a complete organizational network will provide PSI with a "big engine" capable of securing victory in 2029. Furthermore, Jokowi urged that PSI's current organizational structure must be functional to maximize its effectiveness. He called upon all cadres, leaders, and supporters to actively introduce the party to the Indonesian public and to make a tangible impact on society. Jokowi was in Kupang for a three-day visit from July 31 to August 2, during which he engaged in various activities, including meeting with seaweed fishermen, attending the PSI meeting, participating in a fun walk, and witnessing a cultural carnival.
