US Corporate Leaders Meet Hun Sen to Explore Investment Opportunities in Cambodia

Senate President of Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, met with a delegation of representatives from major American companies, led by Mr. Brian D. McFeeters, President of the US-ASEAN Business Council, on the morning of July 21, 2026. During the meeting, Samdech Techo expressed hope that American investors would further invest in Cambodia, aligning with the continuous growth in bilateral trade between Cambodia and the United States. Samdech Techo noted that most American investors in Cambodia focus on the transportation, medical, education, and technology sectors. He considered these areas as "innovation, which is what Cambodia desires." According to Mr. Brian D. McFeeters, the US-ASEAN Business Council comprises over 180 member companies, many of which are showing interest in investing in ASEAN countries, particularly in Cambodia. Mr. Brian D. McFeeters highlighted the positive progress in Cambodia-US relations. Representing the private sector and the US-ASEAN Business Council, he expressed a desire to participate in investments in Cambodia to further strengthen bilateral ties. He stated that American businesspeople and their partners meeting with Samdech today are seeking opportunities to invest and expand their investments in Cambodia, including representatives from companies such as Ford, SC Johnson, and Coca-Cola, among other partners. Samdech Techo expressed his full support for American investors in Cambodia, emphasizing that the core of Cambodia-US relations lies in economics, trade, and investment. In 2025, the bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and the United States reached over $13.14 billion, an increase of 29.24%. Of this, Cambodia's exports to the US amounted to $12.73 billion, up 28.48%, while imports from the US were $417 million, an increase of 57.83%.
