Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, expressed his appreciation for the CNN Indonesia Islamic Travel Connect 2026, a five-day event held at Mozaik Walk, Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta. He stated that the gathering, which brings together Hajj and Umrah industry players, regulators, and the public, will help minimize fraudulent practices. "This will certainly bring business actors in Hajj and Umrah closer to potential consumers, thereby minimizing the possibility of fraud in the implementation of Hajj and Umrah," said Irfan after opening the CNN Indonesia Islamic Travel Connect 2026 on Wednesday. The minister revealed that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah receives almost daily reports regarding various violations committed by unprofessional umrah travel organizers. According to him, through events like CNN Indonesia Islamic Travel Connect, the public can directly compare professional travel agencies. "I want to emphasize strengthening public trust in the umrah and Hajj travel industry, especially umrah travel. Because almost every day there are negative news about umrah travel," he said. President Director of CNN Indonesia, Titin Rosmasari, stated that the public's demand for Umrah and Hajj pilgrimage continues to increase. She mentioned that there are many conveniences in performing Umrah with trusted travel agents. Titin added that the event is expected to serve as a bridge to connect the public with Hajj and Umrah industry players and the halal lifestyle.
