Cambodia Breaks Ground on $10 Million Industrial Gas Plant to Boost Domestic Supply

A groundbreaking ceremony for a large-scale industrial air separation plant, a project by the Chinese-backed Jinding Air Liquefaction (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., with an investment of $10 million, was held in Kampong Speu province. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Cham Chansophann, Governor of Kampong Speu province, and attended by provincial officials, industrial park management, business partners, representatives from construction and installation companies, and other distinguished guests. Mr. Chen Zhonghui, President of Jinding Air Liquefaction (Cambodia), expressed his gratitude to the Cambodian government and the Kampong Speu provincial administration for their long-term support. He stated that the project will enable Cambodia to achieve self-sufficiency in supplying key industrial gases such as liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon, which are vital for modern industries, thereby reducing foreign imports. This industrial gas production plant, the first of its kind in the Jincheg International Economic Zone in Kampong Speu province, represents a total investment exceeding $10 million. The funds will be allocated for land acquisition, factory construction, and the installation of advanced manufacturing technology and an automatic control system. The company conducted a thorough five-month feasibility study before making this significant investment decision. Governor Cham Chansophann congratulated Jinding Air Liquefaction on its substantial investment in Kampong Speu. He highlighted that this pioneering industrial gas plant will not only fill the domestic supply gap but also serve as a crucial catalyst for attracting more heavy and modern industries to the province, ensuring a stable and reasonably priced supply of strategic raw materials. He affirmed the provincial administration's commitment to facilitating investment, ensuring security and safety, and providing legal support in line with the government's pentagonal strategy, aiming to create local employment, increase tax revenue, and boost national economic growth.
