Vietnamese community organisation network completed across Laos

The Vietnamese Embassy is actively supporting the establishment of a comprehensive network of Vietnamese community organizations throughout Laos. This initiative aims to bolster cooperation between Vietnamese and Laotian localities and businesses, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of joint projects in the coming years. In a related development, the third Vietnam-Laos Border Defence Friendship Exchange took place in Nghe An Province, Vietnam, on July 10, featuring a series of activities. Over the past decade, the twinning relationship between Thuy Phong village in Nghe An's Kim Bang commune and Xop Tuong village in Nam On commune, Xaychamphone district, Bolikhamxay province of Laos, has emerged as a model for fostering a shared border of peace, friendship, and cooperation. Domestically, the Vietnamese Party and State have consistently underscored the importance of caring for individuals who rendered service to the revolution. Party General Secretary and State President To Lam affirmed on July 15 that this care is both a political responsibility and a moral obligation, calling for more comprehensive and timely policies to ensure that those who sacrificed for the nation receive the recognition and respect they deserve. On the same day, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung paid tribute to fallen soldiers by offering incense and laying flowers at the Lang Son martyrs' cemetery during a working visit to the northern province. Vietnam continues its efforts to locate, recover, and identify the remains of fallen Vietnamese soldiers and experts. The Takeo Special Task Committee in Cambodia recently handed over the remains of 14 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts to its An Giang counterpart in Vietnam. These remains were recovered from Kirivong and Tram Kak districts. The efforts by Team K51 to recover and repatriate the remains of 27 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia during the 2025–2026 dry season underscore the nation's commitment to honoring its fallen heroes. The digitization of records and establishment of a unified database are expected to significantly expedite and improve the accuracy of these searches, providing a crucial foundation for implementing policies for individuals with meritorious service. These endeavors, while focused on national remembrance and bilateral ties, occur within the broader context of Vietnam's one-party system, where national development and social stability are paramount. The strengthening of ties with Laos and the meticulous care for revolutionary contributors and fallen soldiers reflect the Party's commitment to national unity and historical continuity. In the geopolitical landscape, particularly concerning relations with China, Vietnam's emphasis on regional partnerships and internal cohesion remains a key strategic element.
