Chinese National Working Illegally as Project Supervisor in Bali Deported

The Denpasar Immigration Office in Bali has deported a 29-year-old Chinese national who was found working illegally as a project supervisor on the island, having entered Indonesia on a Visa on Arrival (VOA), which does not permit employment. R. Haryo Sakti, Head of the Denpasar Immigration Office Class I TPI, stated that the administrative immigration action was taken based on Article 75, Paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. This provision allows immigration authorities to take action against foreigners deemed to be engaging in activities that endanger security and order or fail to comply with applicable laws and regulations. The deportation process for the Chinese national, identified by the initials JZ, took place on Monday (7/9) at 14:30 WITA. Immigration officers from the intelligence and enforcement section escorted JZ to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to ensure the departure process followed all procedures. JZ was sent off on a route from Denpasar to Shanghai and then to Changsha. Haryo Sakti emphasized that the deportation is part of Denpasar Immigration's efforts to enforce regulations against foreign nationals committing immigration violations in Bali. He asserted that every foreigner in Indonesia is obliged to comply with all applicable legal provisions. He further stated that the supervision and enforcement against immigration violations will continue to be carried out strictly, measured, and in accordance with the law. Meanwhile, Ramdhani, Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, appreciated the actions taken by the Denpasar Immigration Office. "Any violation by a foreign national will be dealt with according to the law as part of the commitment to maintain security and order in Bali, while also providing legal certainty for the community," he said.
