Cambodia Enhances Gymnastics Coaching Skills for International Competitions

The Gymnastics Federation of Cambodia (GFK) concluded its five-day training course and annual training camp on coaching techniques for the National Development Youth MAG Academy in Aerobic Level 1-2. The event took place from September 20-24, 2026, at the Primary School Gymnastics Club No. 5 in Kampong Chhnang province. During the closing ceremony, Mr. Noy Panna, Secretary General of the GFK, highlighted that participants acquired new techniques, modern pedagogy, and practical experience, thereby enhancing their coaching capabilities. This included standard gymnastics teaching methods, flexibility, strength, balance, and safety techniques during training. Mr. Panna urged the trainees to apply their acquired knowledge and skills to train young athletes, ensuring technical proficiency and a safe training environment. He also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, and the Kampong Chhnang Provincial Department of Education, Youth and Sport for their warm cooperation. Twenty-two participants, including seven women, attended the course. Thirteen achieved excellent results, five good, and four average. The training covered theoretical and practical aspects, deepening understanding of the latest coaching trends and rule changes from 2024-2028. The GFK plans to hold regular specialized training courses, workshops, and training camps annually to further elevate the skills of coaches and athletes, aiming to boost the overall development of Cambodian gymnastics. The federation specifically looks forward to strong performances at the 34th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Malaysia in 2027. Source: AKP Khmer
