Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation visits University of Forestry and Environmental Science

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U San Oo met with lecturers and students of the University of Forestry and Environmental Science on Wednesday. The Union Minister highlighted the university’s role in providing education, research and services in forestry and environmental conservation. He urged students to gain knowledge and skills to become qualified professionals in the sector. He also stressed the growing importance of environmental protection amid challenges such as deforestation, biodiversity loss, climate change, water shortages, soil degradation, air pollution and waste. The Union Minister and officials also inspected sites for new university buildings planned for the 2026–2027 fiscal year, including a two-storey lecture building, recreation centre and hostel.
