Ayeyarwaddy Times September 20 The People's Defence Force (PDF) of Wetlet Township and local news organizations have issued alerts urging residents living on riverbanks and islands to exercise extreme caution regarding heavy weapons and aerial threats, as a convoy of military ships and vessels sailing down the Ayeyarwaddy River from Bamo and Shweku has been engaging in indiscriminate firing of heavy and small arms along the river. As of 10:54 AM today, September 20, the vanguard of the descending military convoy had reached near Kyaukmyauk town and was continuing to fire heavy and small arms, according to reports. Furthermore, Y-12 aircraft have been observed conducting reconnaissance flights and providing aerial support fire. "They are sailing down to near the Shwebo Ratanathinkha Bridge. An MI35 attack helicopter is also accompanying them," a source told Ayeyarwaddy Times. Yesterday, September 19, a large convoy of vessels, including attack boats, flat boats, and pusher boats, which had sailed down from Bamo and Shweku, docked at the port of Thabeikkyin town. Today, the vanguard vessels began to depart. The military is moving back and forth with civilian vessels and two attack boats, a flat boat, and a series of pusher boats. Aircraft escorting these vessels have also been attacking villages along the riverbanks.
