Prabowo Calls for BRICS Synergy to Strengthen Global South

Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto has called on BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) members to leverage their shared strengths for enhanced cooperation. Prabowo highlighted the crucial role BRICS can play in strengthening the unity and voice of the Global South. He emphasized that cooperation among member states is essential for economic growth, development, and increasing their influence on the international stage. The Defense Minister asserted that by sharing the diverse resources, technologies, and markets of BRICS nations, mutual benefits can be maximized. He also stated that joint efforts should be promoted to address global challenges and contribute to building a more just and sustainable international order. Although Indonesia is not a formal member of BRICS, it, as part of the Global South, aims to enhance its voice on the international stage and expand economic opportunities, showing strong interest in cooperation within frameworks like BRICS.
