Vietnam Develops Education-Focused Zone in Large Urban Project

A new zone specifically for educational institutions, named "Rừng Phượng," is being developed within the "Eco Retreat" large-scale urban project located in the western suburbs of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This "Rừng Phượng" zone is part of the 71-hectare "Mùa Lễ Hội" district and is being promoted by Ecopark, the developer. The plan includes the construction of Edison Schools (primary to high school) on an area of approximately 22,000 square meters, designed to accommodate 3,600 students annually. Edison Schools has been recognized for many years as a Microsoft Global Model School and focuses on AI, 21st-century skills, and multilingual education (English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean). It will also function as a College Board-approved center for SAT and AP examinations. Furthermore, a kindergarten will be established on a 7,000 square meter site, targeting young families who value a sustainable lifestyle and wish for their children to grow up in a clean environment. Nguyen Duc Canh, founder of Ecopark, stated that "Rừng Phượng" embodies comprehensive educational value through the synergy of a high-quality educational environment, a civilized society, and a rich natural setting. The project aims to foster children's creativity, collaboration, and emotional growth not only within classrooms but also through interaction with nature and the community. Specifically, it seeks to support the development of six key indicators in children: IQ (Intelligence Quotient), EQ (Emotional Quotient), CQ (Creativity Quotient), SQ (Social Quotient), and AQ (Adversity Quotient). Located at the gateway of Eco Retreat, "Rừng Phượng" offers convenient access to other major facilities such as the central square and Ho Thien Nga Park. This development highlights the growing investment in education in Vietnam and the increasing interest in sustainable urban development. Eco Retreat is scheduled for handover starting in the third quarter of 2026, with ongoing development of infrastructure including commercial facilities and parks.
