The meeting of the Overseas Employment Supervision Committee was held at the Ministry of Labour on August 3 that arrangements are being made to provide domestic and foreign employment opportunities for the people’s military servants who have diligently completed their military service duties. For those who have expressed their desire to go abroad for work, the Myanmar Overseas Employment Agencies Association (MOEAA) and licensed overseas employment agencies are being coordinated with to help them secure jobs. At the meeting, the Committee Chairman Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe said that efforts are being made to expedite the sending of workers abroad by relaxing unnecessary procedures, securing better overseas labour markets, and enhancing the protection and care for Myanmar migrant workers already in foreign countries. He also stated that domestic labour force depletion is being monitored and managed. Subsequently, the Committee Vice-Chairman Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Phone Myat discussed and coordinated that ministries will work together to successfully implement the procedures set by the committee, and that if there are any necessary recommendations, they will be submitted and acted upon accordingly. The committee secretary, Deputy Minister U Maung Maung Than, presented the implementation status, and committee members provided recommendations and discussions on the respective procedures, it’s reported.
