Online Scam Hub Raided in Bavet, Cambodia; 14 Vietnamese Nationals Arrested

A joint force from Cambodia's Svay Rieng province has cracked down on an online scam operation in Bavet city, arresting 14 Vietnamese nationals. The operation, conducted under Sub-Decree No. 03 of the Royal Government dated September 22, 2026, targeted a rented villa in Bavet village, Bavet commune, Bavet city. Led by Mr. Men Eng, Deputy Governor of Svay Rieng Province, and with procedural coordination from Mr. Hout Vichit, Deputy Prosecutor of the Provincial Court, the joint team investigated and launched the operation. The crackdown saw the participation of Colonel Sreng Huot, Deputy Provincial Police Commissioner, Mr. Men Chanra, Governor of Bavet City, and numerous other relevant security forces and technical officials. During the search, authorities seized evidence including passports of the 14 Vietnamese nationals (6 women), 34 All-in-One desktop computers (found operating during the raid), one monitor, one computer tower (CPU), and a total of 40 mobile phones (34 of which were personal use phones). The 14 Vietnamese nationals and all seized evidence have been handed over to the Anti-Cybercrime Department of the Svay Rieng Provincial Police Commissioner for further legal proceedings.
