iPhone 18 Pro Series Launches in Vietnam, Pre-orders Surge, Supply Constraints Expected

Apple has officially launched the new iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in Vietnam, with sales commencing on September 18th. This marks the second consecutive year Vietnam is among the earliest global markets for iPhone releases, alongside the US, Australia, and China. This year's initial lineup focuses on the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air models are slated for early next year, while the foldable iPhone Duo will be available from October 23rd. Beyond the Apple Store Online, major retailers are offering various promotions, including trade-in programs and discounts for different payment methods. The new 'Burgundy' color is generating significant buzz, offering a more subdued tone compared to last year's 'Orange'. Other popular new options include 'Black', 'Ice Blue', and 'Silver', with the black variant appealing to users who prefer understated aesthetics. Pre-orders across major domestic retail systems, excluding the Apple Store Online, surpassed 300,000 units in less than a day. The Apple online store itself saw its initial stock sell out within 10 minutes of launch. Consequently, new orders are now facing delivery delays until mid-October. Included accessories feature a USB-C charging cable with a braided exterior, offering enhanced durability over traditional silicone cables. The models sold in Vietnam this year bear the 'X/A' designation, typically for the Australian and New Zealand markets, similar to how the iPhone 17 series used the 'ZP/A' designation instead of the local 'VN/A'. The devices maintain the Ceramic Shield front and aluminum alloy frame construction. While the dimensions of the iPhone 18 Pro Max remain similar to its predecessor at 163.4 x 78.0 x 8.75 mm, its weight has increased to 249g from the 17 Pro Max's 233g, making the difference noticeable in hand. Internally, significant improvements have been made to the cooling system, with the vapor chamber tripling in size compared to the iPhone 17 Pro models, enhancing heat dissipation capabilities. Battery life has also been improved; the iPhone 18 Pro Max can achieve approximately 7 hours of video playback on a wired charge, with an estimated total usage of up to 29 hours on a full charge. Camera enhancements include a more professional default shooting interface, with increased control over aperture settings and AI-powered subject tracking processed directly on the device. Pricing starts at 38.99 million VND (approximately $1,600 USD) for the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro, a 4 million VND increase from the previous generation's launch price. The iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at 41.99 million VND (approximately $1,750 USD) for the 256GB model. The high demand, particularly for new colors and higher storage variants, has already led to extended delivery timelines into mid-October.
