Cambodia to Host National Design Contest for 29th Teachers' Day Anniversary

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia has announced plans to solicit and exhibit design works from the public to celebrate the 29th anniversary of 'Teachers' Day' on October 5, 2026. The contest, under the theme 'Teachers as Pillars of Modern Pedagogy: Developing Human Resources for the 21st Century,' is open to the general public, students, and design enthusiasts. The exhibited works will accompany the commemorative event and are divided into two categories: 1. Logo designs that symbolize the Teachers' Day event, not only as a mark but also as an expression of the theme for the entire year. 2. Wall art designs (Graffiti) that combine the slogan 'Teachers as Pillars of Modern Pedagogy: Developing Human Resources for the 21st Century' with background imagery or other artistic designs. The ministry stated that the objective of this contest is to deepen public understanding of the importance of Teachers' Day and to make this commemorative day more meaningful. It also aims to provide an opportunity for the public to express their deep respect and gratitude towards teachers nationwide through artistic design. Eligibility requirements stipulate that submitted works must be original creations stemming from the applicant's own creativity. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the creation or drawing of works is strictly prohibited; any work found to have used AI will be automatically disqualified. If inspired by existing works or ideas from others, applicants must clearly indicate the source and original author to avoid copyright infringement. The content of the works must be closely related to the annual theme, and content involving racial or religious discrimination, or that violates national moral standards or traditions, is prohibited.
