The Kayah State Government is continuously undertaking measures to ensure that Loikaw, the capital city of Kayah State, becomes a clean and green city. In this regard, Acting Kayah State Chief Minister Colonel Than Soe Aung, accompanied by officials, encouraged the collective cleaning activities being carried out by departmental personnel and local residents at Kandarawaddy Monastery, the Basic Education and Industrial, Agricultural and Livestock Breeding High School (Chikel- ), Myo Nan Shwe Pagoda and Taung Kwe Pagoda this morning. First, the Acting Chief Minister and officials visited Kandarawaddy Monastery in Htay Thama Ward, where they encouraged firefighters, departmental staff and local residents as they cleared bushes and overgrown grasses along both sides of the road within the monastery compound and along the entrance road to the Basic Education and Industrial, Agricultural and Livestock Breeding High School (Chikel- ), and carried out land levelling and improvement works using machinery. Next, the Acting Chief Minister and officials visited Myo Nan Shwe Pagoda and Taung Kwe Pagoda, where they encouraged members of the State Police Force and their family members as they performed cleaning of Buddha images with water, cleaned the pagoda platforms, and cleared bushes and grass within the pagoda compounds. It is learnt that the inspection was carried out to encourage the ongoing collective efforts to maintain cleanliness and improve the urban environment of Loikaw.
