Cambodia Begins 2027 Minimum Wage Negotiations for Garment Sector Workers

In Cambodia, tripartite negotiations have commenced on September 1, 2026, to set the new minimum wage for workers in the garment, footwear, travel goods, and bag manufacturing industries for 2027. The meeting was led by H.E. Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training and Chairman of the National Minimum Wage Council, with the participation of representatives from the government, workers, and employers. This session marks the second year of the fourth mandate for the National Minimum Wage Council. During the first day's afternoon session, the three parties will review and discuss crucial data and statistics on the current economic situation and the criteria that will serve as the basis for relevant parties to negotiate the minimum wage figures.
