According to a press release from the Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence, the field visit, coordinated by the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG), took place at 9:35 a.m. at the Cham Yeam International Border Checkpoint, located in Cham Yeam village, Pak Khlang commune, Mondol Seima district, Koh Kong province. The mission followed the entry into force of the ceasefire and aimed to help ensure its implementation between Cambodia and Thailand, promote transparency and mutual trust, and contribute to the rapid normalisation of the situation. The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia reaffirmed their firm, sincere and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) of Dec. 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand of Oct. 26, 2025, and all other relevant agreements. Cambodia also reaffirmed its continued full support for and commitment to strengthening the role of the ASEAN Observer Team in ensuring implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand.
