The 11th Eastern Economic Forum is currently taking place in Vladivostok of Russian Federation. Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Ko Ko Kyaw participated in the discussion session titled “The Business Environment of the Future: Global Experience and New Solutions” held at the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok on Thursday. The session was led by Mr. Mikhail Khomich, Head of the Strategy Department from the Investment and Development Group of VEB.RF. The Deputy Minister joined Mr. Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development and senior representatives from the Russian Presidential Office, ROSATOM, Sberbank, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), the Korea-Russia Business Council and the Thailand-Russia Business Council. Discussions touched upon global economic and investment experiences, including those in the Russian Far East, as well as solutions to current challenges. The Deputy Minister highlighted Myanmar’s investment and special economic zone laws, enacted in line with international legal standards to protect investors’ interests, the country’s efforts to establish a stable and sustainable investment environment for international businesses, and its prioritization of MSMEs and Special Economic Zone projects. He also invited Russian entrepreneurs and investors to invest in Myanmar.
