Cambodia-China Friendship Bridge Over Mekong Opens New Artery, Boosting Tourism and Logistics

In Kratie province, northeastern Cambodia, the 'Cambodia-China Mekong Friendship Bridge,' constructed with Chinese support, has been inaugurated. The bridge spans approximately 2 kilometers across the Mekong River, connecting Chit Borei district and Prek Sambor district. Additionally, connecting roads and feeder routes leading to Kratie city extend over 33 kilometers. The bridge and its connecting roads begin at the National Road No. 7 (Kloeu Stoeng roundabout) and link to National Road No. 60B. This forms a crucial part of the main road connecting Kratie province with Kampong Thom province. It is set to serve as a vital transportation system, linking National Road No. 6, No. 62, No. 7, No. 9, No. 71, No. 71C, Provincial Road No. 371, Provincial Road No. 73, Provincial Road No. 76, and National Road No. 78. Phan Rim, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, announced the bridge's opening and encouraged visitors to northeastern Cambodia to explore Kratie city and witness this new bridge. This infrastructure development is expected to significantly ease regional travel, attract tourists, and enhance logistics efficiency.
