Man's Strange Journey to Bangkok Ends in Central Pattaya Tunnel Rescue

PATTAYA, Thailand – Emergency responders rushed to the Central Pattaya Tunnel early on July 20 after a man jumped from Sukhumvit Road into the tunnel area, leaving officials scrambling to provide assistance. The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre received a call at 6:06 a.m. reporting that a man had fallen into the Central Pattaya Tunnel on Sukhumvit Road. Police and rescue volunteers were immediately sent to the scene. Rescue teams found the man, estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old, appearing distressed and speaking incoherently. He told officials that he was trying to travel to Bangkok and had thrown his bag down from the road into the tunnel before jumping down after it. The man reportedly said he had been under significant stress and wanted to continue his journey to Bangkok. Fortunately, he suffered only minor injuries. Rescue workers provided first aid before taking him to Pattaya City Police Station to rest and calm down. Officials said the action was taken as a precaution to prevent any repeat incident and ensure his safety.
