The incident began on September 11 in the Phong Dien district of Hue City, at the Scavi Hue Garment Company. Initially, 47 individuals were admitted to the second facility of Hue Central Hospital with suspected food poisoning. By the afternoon of September 12, the number of affected individuals had risen to 174. Currently, 19 patients are being treated at the Phong Dien Medical Center, while 155 are receiving intensive care at the second facility of Hue Central Hospital. Amid Vietnam's rapid economic growth and urbanization, concerns over food safety have been escalating among the public. Large-scale food poisoning incidents, particularly those originating from factory canteens or mass dining facilities, pose a significant risk, and this case highlights such vulnerabilities.
