Cambodian Red Cross Reviews Youth and Volunteer Activities for First Half of 2026, Sets Future Direction

The Cambodian Red Cross convened a meeting at its headquarters in Phnom Penh to review the achievements of its youth and volunteer activities during the first half of 2026 and to set future directions. The meeting was presided over by H.E. Pum Chanty Nie, Secretary General of the Cambodian Red Cross, and attended by 95 leaders, officials from the central office, directors and deputy directors of branches, and officials responsible for youth and volunteers from all 25 provinces and cities. The primary objectives of the meeting were to summarize the work of youth and volunteers in the first half of 2026 and to outline future directions aimed at strengthening the management of the Cambodian Red Cross youth and volunteer network in educational institutions and communities, as well as to further invigorate their activities. H.E. Pum Chanty Nie provided guidance and outlined several steps for future implementation, including: 1. Upon returning to their respective branches, report the outcomes of the meeting and any requests to the leadership of the branch committee, submitting them through the director or permanent vice-chairman. 2. Measure the 2026 plan against the five strategic directions from the mid-term strategic review of the Cambodian Red Cross (2021-2030) to formulate the plan for 2027. 3. Clearly identify completed work, reasons for any unaccomplished tasks, and propose solutions, while highlighting achievements that exceeded the plan. 4. Strengthen and expand the network of Cambodian Red Cross youth and volunteers, encouraging, promoting, and supporting their activities, and ensuring a proper management system. 5. Upon returning to their branches, prepare a plan to continue implementing community resilience-building activities.
