Marcos Jr. Administers Oath to 21 Newly Promoted PCG Flag Officers

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday led the oath-taking of 21 newly promoted flag officers of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). In an update, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said Marcos pointed out the PCG’s crucial role in safeguarding the country’s maritime domain, enforcing maritime laws, conducting search and rescue operations, responding to disasters, and protecting Filipino fishermen. Marcos also congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to lead with courage and integrity as they take on greater responsibilities in the service. The President likewise encouraged the officers to help prepare the next generation of PCG leaders and embrace innovation and modernization in carrying out their duties for the Filipino people, according to the PCO. A total of 31 PCG flag officers were promoted.
