Mekong, July 17 According to the price list for July 16 in the fresh market of Aung Pan town in southern Shan State, tomatoes, golden beans, and red onions have become goods fetching good prices, while flowers, cabbage, potatoes, garlic, ginger, and gourds are being traded at medium prices. Although garlic, potatoes, radishes, and gourds fetched good prices on July 12, traders said that currently, tomatoes, golden beans, and red onions have seen increased demand and are leading the market. In the tomato market, the price for 'Gutt' variety is up to 2,500 kyats per viss (approximately 1.6 kg), 'Shell' variety at 2,300 kyats, and small varieties at 2,000 kyats, and although prices are stable, trading is brisk, it is reported. Golden beans are priced at 13,000 kyats per viss for the 'Shell' variety and 11,000 kyats per viss for the medium size, showing a firmer price situation compared to previous days. Furthermore, new red onions are being traded at 5,300 kyats per viss for Grade 1, 5,000 kyats for Grade 2, 4,700 kyats for Grade 3, and 4,000 kyats for Grade 4, and are included in the list of goods fetching good prices. Potatoes and gourds, which fetched good prices last week, are currently stable in price, with potatoes being traded from 2,000 kyats to 4,700 kyats per viss, and gourds at 3,500 kyats per viss, it is reported. Flowers, cabbage, and ginger are also being sold at medium prices, and there are no significant changes in the market, it is reported. On the other hand, mustard greens continue to see price declines as in the previous week, fetching only 700 kyats to 1,000 kyats per viss. Traders say that the pressure on prices continues due to high arrivals and low demand. "This week, golden beans and red onions have fetched better prices. Tomatoes are also selling briskly. Mustard greens, like last week, have high arrivals and prices have not yet risen," a trader from Aung Pan fresh market told Mekong. According to traders, price fluctuations may continue during the rainy season, depending on the volume of goods arriving, weather conditions, and demand. #MeKongNews #AungPan #FreshMarket #Tomatoes #GoldenBeans #RedOnions #MustardGreens
