Military Checkpoint Attacked in Painzalok, 2 Soldiers Killed: Resistance Claims Responsibility

A military checkpoint set up by the Myanmar junta in the outskirts of Painzalok, Bago Region, was attacked twice in late April, resulting in the deaths of at least two soldiers and the destruction of the checkpoint. The local resistance group, Spring Warriors Column, claimed responsibility, stating they targeted the junta checkpoint for illicitly extorting money from residents. Military operations are intensifying in Nyaunglebin Township, leading to a tense situation.
